What tour did you select and when did you travel?
Why did you select this tour?
I saw a post on a Facebook page of someone holidaying in the snow. I asked them where they were. Reply was on a White Xmas Tour. What a bucket list experience that would be I thought. I had always wanted to go to Switzerland since my son lived there for 3 years. I immediately googled “White Xmas Tour” and up came Albatross Tours. I check the following day with a travel agent regarding the tour company. Excellent company one of the best was the reply. Two days later I rang Albatross Tours and preregistered for the “Swiss Christmas in Zermatt” 2019.
Who did you travel with?
My partner Graham Andersen
Have you travelled with us previously?
No. I have booked my next tour with Albatross Tours “The Italian Grande”
What was your favourite place/s on your Albatross Tour?
There were many that stood out for me Fuschl, Hallstatt & Innsbruck in Austria. Appenzell & of course Zermatt in Switzerland which was the highlight of my tour. Loved Fuschl on the lake where we walked after dinner as well as through the village. Hallstatt the scenery was just breathtaking would love to go back one day. Innsbruck the Christmas markets were a treat. Appenzell what a wonderful little village let us not forget the horse drawn carriage ride through the countryside. The hotels we stayed in were spotlessly clean and so comfortable with lots of character.
What was the most amazing thing you saw or did on your Albatross Tour?
The Glacier Express train ride through the snow covered alps of Switzerland.
Tell us about your most memorable moment on tour.
Would have to be the 4 days in Zermatt where in snowed for 3 days and after all that was what the holiday was all about a White Xmas in Zermatt. It was a Memorable Magical time.
What was your favourite meal on tour and why?
All the meals top notch. We particularly enjoyed the variety of fresh bread and especially the local Appenzell cheese. Always fresh produce.
What advice do you have for anyone interested in travelling on this tour.
If it is on your bucket list just do it. You won’t regret it I promise. Don’t forget to preregister otherwise you will be disappointed.
Would you recommend this tour to family and friends?
Most definitely the tours travel at a good pace not at all rushed as you stay in places longer than a day most times several days much more relaxing. Our tour was an Amazing Experience.
